FAQs
What makes Widgeon Waterfowl a good option for corporate retreats??
Widgeon Waterfowl offers private, guided waterfowl hunts in Saskatchewan that combine world-class field action with comfortable lodging, home-cooked meals, and an unforgettable off-grid experience. It’s ideal for companies looking to reward high performers, entertain key clients, or build stronger team connections — all in a setting that fosters trust, authenticity, and lasting memories.
Where are you located and how do we get there?
Widgeon Waterfowl is based near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada — one of the top regions for waterfowl hunting in North America. Your team can fly into Saskatoon International Airport (YXE), and we’ll provide clear directions to our lodge. We can also assist with travel planning and group logistics to make your retreat seamless.
What’s included in a corporate or group hunting retreat?
All corporate packages include:
Private lodging (sleeps up to 12)
Guided morning dry-field hunts for ducks and geese
Daily scouting and premium decoy spreads
Bird cleaning and prep
Home-cooked meals, WiFi, big-screen TV, and full kitchen access
Is this tax-deductible or a valid business expense?
Many companies treat client entertainment, team-building, or corporate incentive trips as legitimate business expenses — but we always recommend confirming with your accountant or tax advisor. We can provide a detailed invoice and documentation for your company records.
Can you customize hunts for teams or client groups?
Yes — we offer fully customizable retreat packages for executive teams, sales departments, VIP clients, or leadership groups. Whether it’s a weekend escape or a multi-day immersive experience, we’ll tailor the lodging, meals, schedule, and field access to match your goals. Group branding, VIDEO/photo packages, and hospitality upgrades are available.
What should we bring for a corporate or group waterfowl hunt?
We’ll provide a detailed checklist once your trip is booked, but here’s what each guest should plan to bring:
Valid waterfowl hunting licenses and permits (WE OBTAIN THOSE FOR YOU)
Shotgun and ammunition (WE PROVIDE LIMITED SHOTGUN AND SHELLS)
Camouflage hunting clothing appropriate for cold, early mornings
Insulated waterproof boots and gloves
Cooler for transporting birds home
Personal items (toiletries, medications, etc.)
For group leaders, we handle the rest — lodging, meals, field prep, and hospitality. If you’d like to include branded gear, custom welcome bags, or evening drinks/snacks, we’re happy to help coordinate.
